Responsibilities:
The Consultant shall perform all of the following:
- Install/Upgrade ADABAS from 8.4.1 to 8.5.2.
- Install/Upgrade NATURAL products such as Natural Advanced Facilities, Natural CICS Interface, Natural Security, Super Natural from 8.2.7 to 9.1.2.
- Upgrade TRIM, N2O products to support Z/OS 2.4.
- Upgrade EntireX from 9.6.0.00 to 10.7.0.
- Provide IMS & ADABAS DBA support to all customers.
- Migrate ADABAS DBs storage from non-SMS Mod-3 to SMS Mod-9 volumes.
- Implement new maintenance and fixes to Support the Z/OS upgrade in a manner that minimizes risk and customer impact.
- Provide lead support for any ADABAS/NATURAL issues.
- Assist the County’s application development personnel in resolving application problems.
- Ensure backup and disaster recovery plans are implemented, tested, and verified.
- Modify, as necessary, existing customer programs written in Assembler language to accommodate modifications and new customer requests.
- Provide ADABAS/IMS/NATURAL troubleshooting, problem resolution, and 24 x 7 x 365 on-call after-hours and weekend support.
Required Skills:
The Consultant must meet all of the following minimum qualifications:
- Five (5) years of experience in the last seven (7) years as a systems programmer for installing, configuring, and updating the ADABAS & NATURAL products.
- Five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years installing and maintaining IMS for z/OS, migrating IMS regions to new IMS versions, applying PTF’s and PUT levels using SMP/E, and performing IMSGENs.
- Five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years performing IMS/ADABAS DBA tasks, diagnosis and tuning, troubleshooting IMS, ADABAS, and NATURAL problem issues, and working with the developers in resolving application problems on z/OS.
- Five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years performing ongoing performance monitoring, diagnosis and tuning, troubleshooting IMS, ADABAS, and NATURAL problem issues, and working with the developers in resolving application problems on z/OS.
- Five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years programming using Assembler and COBOL.
- Five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years working with each of the following: Natural Advanced Facilities, Natural CICS Interface, Natural Security, Super Natural, TRIM, N2O, DETLA/IMS, Maxim re-org, and Parallel Sysplex.
